Finally it’s official. The long awaited WhatsApp Dark Mode is now available for Android and iPhone users Global. This was made known on WhatsApp blog post about the availability of the features.
No new update so far on my end, however, you can check out for any WhatsApp update available on your region via Google play store and App Store. WhatsApp Dark Mode was made available for iPhone and Android beta tester last month. This, however, helps with the guideline on how to switch from Default light mode to Dark mode.

The Dark Mode in general is designed to reduce eye strain in low light environments. It also helps your readability as it minimize eye fatigue.
According to WhatsApp Blog post; “Readability: When choosing colors, we wanted to minimize eye fatigue and use colors that are closer to the system defaults on iPhone and Android respectively.”
“Information Hierarchy: We wanted to help users easily focus their attention on each screen. We did this by using color and other design elements to make sure the most important information stands out.”
How to Enable WhatsApp Dark Mode
For Android 10 and iOS 13 users, you can use dark mode by enabling it in system settings. While Android 9 and below can go to WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Theme > select ‘Dark’.
