To control hate speech and spreading of rumours/ fake news, twitter has rolled out Limited reply feature for all user, irrespective of the device OS. The new feature have been under testing for months ago, and it finally goes official for users to limit who he/ she prefers to reply (Comment) on a particular tweet.
Before sending a tweet, users will now be able to choose who can reply to it. The options includes people they follow, only the people mentioned in the tweet, and everyone which appears as default option.

Twitter says that feature ensures that unwanted replies don’t get in the way of meaningful conversations. The feature is now available for all Android and iOS users, as well as for the Web version.
Meanwhile, if you don’t select the option to make changes, the default option will be assumed, and everyone will be able to reply to it. While Tweets where you choose the limited reply options will be labelled as such, and the reply icon will be greyed out for people who can’t reply. However, everyone will still be able to view, like, and retweet these tweets.
From my own point of view, this feature will be very useful most especially to drag politicians out to the public while they defend theirselves. It will serve as a kind of setting up Online Judgement panel while followers likes and retweet/ retweet with Comment as well.
