Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ Receiving Android 9 Pie Update: New Features

After bringing the Stable Android 9.0 pie to Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, the South korea technology manufacturer has quickly brought the update to Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The Android 9.0 pie update is currently in Germany, Belgium, and Netherlands, and is expected to reach other countries in the next few weeks.

Base on the reports from users, the software update brings the company’s One user interface as well as the February security patch to the smartphones. The Android 9 Pie is live over-the-air (OTA) for both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones which the Galaxy S8 is 1610MB (1.6GB) in size, while the Galaxy S8+ wasn’t unveiled.

If you are living in a country where the update is currently live, you will automatically receive a notification to start the update process. You can also manually look for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.

You are advised to backup your files before proceeding with installing the update. Additionally, apps like Calculator, Samsung health, Samsung internet, Samsung Note, Samsung Pay, Samsung members are all expected to be updated one after the other after installing the Android pie update.
