Despite the threats coming from US, Huawei is waxing as they signed a deal with the Russian telecom company MTS to develop a 5G network in the country. The agreement was signed on a meeting in Moscow between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This also is the same network that was banned in US over alleging stealing of users data. Well known, Huawei buys their chips from US, however, the US companies are now banned from selling high-tech equipment.
Several companies have already distanced themselves from Huawei, including Google, whose Android system equips the vast majority of smartphones in the world.
Coming back to the deal, “the development of 5G technologies and the pilot launch of fifth-generation networks in 2019-2020”, MTS said in a statement.
